SUMMARY:Synodal Journey : Session 3 - 24/03/2024

 ACTA will be holding three separate sessions to discuss s
 ome of the keyissues in the Synthesis Report published at the end of the F
 irst Sessionof the Synod. The areas chosen for discussion relate to some o
 f thecritical issues affecting the laity and their role in the future of t
 he Church.Members will be involved in discussions which will form part of 
 theresponse that ACTA makes to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference ofEnglan
 d and Wales and the Vatican.
 The sessions will be delivered via Zoom on 
 three consecutive Sundaysfrom 10-24 March 2024.
 The six areas chosen for
  discussion include:Session 1Part 1 Chap 1 – Synodality: Experience and 
 UnderstandingPart 1 Chap 4 - People in Poverty\, Protagonists of the Churc
 h's Journey
 Session 2Part 11 Chap 8 - Church is MissionPart 11 Chap 9 - 
 Women in the Life and Mission of the Church
 Session 3Part 111 Chap 16 - 
 Towards a Listening and Accompanying ChurchPart 111 Chap 17 - Mission in t
 he Digital Environment
 While members will look at specific questions the
 re are significantelements within other chapters. For example Chap 4 consi
 ders thePeople in Poverty while Chap 16 considers the need for accompanime
 ntincluding the poor and marginalised. Chapter 8 considers the missionalna
 ture of the Church but Chap 18 expounds on how this is to bereflected in t
 he structures of the Church. Some chapters refer toparticular constituents
  [ the role of women] while other sections considerthe needs for improved 
 formation to undertake key ministries.
